My Hideous Progeny - a play workshopJoshua Armstrong The late Sam Gerber, owner of Parker-Kennybrook Books in Uptown Greenville, wrote several plays, some of which were left incomplete. MAC will be hosting a workshop to help complete one of his plays entitled My Hideous Progeny about the hauntings of Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein. In January, we presented Act I, and this session will be devoted to constructing Act II.The workshop is held at Tipsy Teapot II, 409 S. Pitt Community College Symphony Orchestra FallConcertJoshua Armstrong WHEN: October 14 at 7:30pmWHERE: Faith Assembly of God (5005 Corey Road in Winterville) The orchestra will be joined by the renowned bagpipe artist Alan Armstrong for a presentation of some of the finest works from the British musical tradition. Also on this concert are the master works L’Arlesienne Suite No. 2 by Bizet and the finally to Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2. Please join us at Faith Assembly of God (5005 Corey Rd.) at 7:30pm on October 14th. Students of all ages are admitted free of charge. All other guests are asked to make a $5 donation to support the orchestra program.
Playwright Contest Staged Readings on November 9Joshua Armstrong Magnolia Arts Center's Third Annual Playwright Contest received nearly 80 submissions from around the world - North Carolina to Australia!Judges will soon receive the scripts to determine the top five 10-minute plays. The top five 10-minute plays will be performed as staged readings for the audience to determine the ultimate winner. The readings will be held Sunday, November 9 at 3:00 at the Tipsy Teapot II, 409 S. Evans St., Uptown Greenville. Come and vote for your favorite play! The contest winner receives a $50 prize.
Winter AuditionsRobin Armstrong On December 7 & 8 we will hold auditions for two upcoming shows. The titles will be announced soon as part of our 2009 Season announcement.Auditions are at the Tipsy Teapot 409 S. Evans Street, Uptown Greenville.
