Communications Chair

Christine Bates is an eastern North Carolina native and has been a parent volunteer at Magnolia Arts Center since 2019. As an English instructor for almost twenty years, Christine enjoys working with and teaching young people of all ages. She is an award-winning short story writer and is the author of three children’s books. Christine’s work has appeared in the Southwest Review and The Broad River Review; she is also co-editor and fiction editor for the Reedy Branch Review, Pitt Community College’s literary journal. Her daughter, Abby, and husband, Andy, are also involved in Magnolia Arts Center productions.
