Dorothea Handron, Vice-President
Dr. Dorothea Handron was a professional nursing educator for 34 years. She currently holds Associate Professor Emerita status at the College of Nursing at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC. From a very early age, Dorothea has adored theater. Growing up in New York, she attended a children’s acting school and was sent on two Broadway auditions. Through college at SUNY at Stony Brook, she took several theater electives and acted in community theater productions (Forum, Mame). In retirement, Dr Handron decided to revisit her passion and began acting in several productions at the MAC. She was Assistant Director for Nunsense and discovered a new interest. She subsequently directed Motherhood Out Loud, Arsenic and Old Lace, and Over the Hill at Magnolia Arts Center. All received excellent reviews. In 2020, Dorothea was voted to serve on the Board at Magnolia Arts.
